Weekly Challenge #34: Father’s Day Card Sketch Challenge!

The Challenge: Get a headstart on Father’s Day and create a greeting card using the sketch provided below. Have fun!

This is the card I came up with using the Imagine JT cartridge:

I know it's a little "different" for a Father's Day card, but my husband like to say "dude".  It's what is on the inside that counts anyway, right?  =)

Pop Up Neighborhood "Too Cool" LO

Here is the fourth installment to my scenery layouts from the Circle exclusive cart Pop Up Neighborhood:

This is the 2 page view.

I cropped the kite from the girl and added a ice cream cone with stickles for shine.

On the boy, I cropped the lollipop from him and added a stickled ice cream cone as well.

I pop dotted the clouds and added the cropped kite from the girl.

I used stickes and brads to embellish the plane.

All the papers used are from my stash.  All the cuts are from Pop Up Neighborhood with the exception of the phrase which is cut from Once Upon a Princess.  Also, the ice cream designer paper is printed from the Imagine cart Yummy.  Enjoy!!!

Pop Up Neighborhood "Bloom Where You're Planted" LO

Here is my third installment of layouts created from the Circle exclusive cartridge Pop Up Neighborhood.  Am I on a roll or what?

All the cuts are from Pop Up Neighborhood with the exception of the phrase which is cut from Wild Card.  Again, I used the sky background from the Imagine Hopscotch cartridge.  I used several cuttlebug folders for embossing (the roof, bushes, clouds and basket).  Misc items are pop dotted for dimension and I inked some of the fence, house, birdhouse and tree.  I used a Signo white gel pen to add highlights to the font, flowers, watering can, hat and wheelbarrow.  I also stiched the edge of the LO...I am finally getting better at stiching those rounded corners!  =)  I did alter a couple of cuts - the man was cut off of the rake and the tire from the tree.

I hope you enjoy and I will be including my Gypsy file for this layout as well:

"GOT MILK" LO

I created this layout using the new Circle Exclusive cart "Pop Up Neighborhood".  There are so many images on this cart that make great scenery layouts.  This LO could be used to scrap your favorite pictures of your baby carrying around a bottle, someone eating cake or cookies, or pictures of people with milk mustaches.  I am going to scrap my son.  =)

All the cuts are from Pop Up Neighborhood with the exception of the phrase which is Disney Pooh Font.  I also used the sky background paper printed from Hopscotch.  The paper used is different brands from my stash and the brads are SU.  I pop dotted a few elements for added dimension.  I hope you enjoy, here's a link to my Gypsy file:

Cricut Circle May 2011 Magazine Challenge

MAKE IT YOUR WAY CONTEST!
Use this month’s magazine as a stepping off point for you to create something your way. Use one of our Designers projects to help you create something similar and yet has your own style. CONTEST RULES: Use at least 3 Cricut Cuts and an idea from the magazine in your project. Contest will open on May20th. Please upload a picture of your project to the blog under the Magazine Challenge tab. Please, one entry per person. Entry deadline is Friday, June 10th, 2011. Please make sure you have a working link to view your project and if possible list what you used for inspiration. Don’t forget… the winner of each contest will receive an E2 Machine!! Good Luck!! ********************************************************************************

I decided that the ballon to the far left needed to be color and not a shadow, so I updated the layout:

I was inspired by the "Neighborhood Layout" on page 10 of the May Circle Magazine.  There were several things about this layout that inspired me:
  1. The use of our newest Circle Exclusive cart ~ Pop Up Neighborhood
  2. All the little houses used on the layout
  3. The fun colors used ~ blue, green, red, yellow
I was also inspired by Jana Eubank's June 3rd Circle Blog Post and used her layout as a template.  What can I say, I love what these talented ladies create!

This layout  uses the Pop Up Neighborhood for the cuts with the exception of the phrase which comes from 3 Birds on Parade and the sky background which is  printed from the Hopscotch Imagine cart. I pop dotted the balloons, clouds and a tree for added dimension along with adding pen borders and font highlights.  Although I cut the houses and trees in their entirety, I cut them along the border so you would only see the rooftops.  I thought this would help put the focus on the sky and hot air balloons.

I hope you enjoy this two page LO.  I have attended many balloon fiestas and thought this would make a perfect LO to display my pictures in.  I am also including the Gypsy file if you would like to create this layout for yourself  I only ask that you leave a comment if your are downloading. Thanks!

Cricut Circle Blog Weekly Challenge #33: Sweet Summertime

Weekly Challenge #33: Sweet Summertime Challenge!
The Challenge: What makes summertime “sweet” to you? Ice cream treats? Watermelon? Popsicles? Whatever it is we want you to include the shape of your favorite summertime sweet treat on your project. But that’s not all! Raid your stamp stash and incorporate them somewhere on your project as well. Have fun!

I created this layout featuring a end of the school year swim party my daughter had.  Cuts I used include the font from Feeling Groovy, the watermelon from Just Because Cards and the citrus background shape (fit to page) from Elegant Edges.  I embellished the edges with a Signo pen and pop dotted each layer of the watermelon and the smaller pic. The phrase is from My Pink Stamper ~ Fruit &  Veggie Puns and the tab and brads are SU.
